Patty McCartan began painting portraits, landscapes and murals as a child in her neighborhood school. She attended the Madison Area Technical College where she studied Commercial Art. During her summer months , Patty furthered her education taking related course work at the University Of Wisconsin Madison, learning  complimentary techniques. Inspiration came from her father Edward McCartan an accomplished businessman in graphic design and artist of landscapes and abstract oil painting. With her fathers guidance she developed and honed new techniques in color and design.

Seizing opportunity and adventure in life Patty moved to Colorado bringing her passion and love for painting. She spends much of her free time on canvas with brushes and a palette knife creating colorful abstracts and landscapes. Support from her family of artists continues to motivate Patty to express her many talents developing the art she paints today.
